MY LIFE

The full story

Since a young girl I’ve had a passion for capturing photos of nature and people everywhere I went. Often tormented by family, on how many photos I snapped while out and about.I had my first digital camera at the age of 10. Taking it on class trips, road trips, and sleepovers with friends. Fast forward to having my first born son in 2016, I picked up a Nikon DSLR 5300 and fell in love with photography in a whole new way. Photography has given me another purpose and has helped to pick me up when I felt at my lowest. I am a stay at home, ‘Un-schooling’ mom to 4 boys! But not only does my photography help me to adventure from the house, It also allows me to financially contribute to our family and pursue our goals of travelling.
In 2019 I took a deep dive into my spirituality, and found the gift of communication with spirit. I started reading Oracle cards for friends and family, which then led me to taking my level 1 & 2 Reiki healing courses in 2021. In May of 2022, my family suffered the incredible loss of my 13yo little brother, Charlie whom was diagnosed with Lymphoma in December 2021. I sat in hospital at the aid of my dad & stepmom for the last 9 days of Charlie’s life. A very hard yet humbling experience that I will forever be grateful for. After his passing, we welcomed our 4th beautiful son. A few months later, December 2022, our family lost yet another beautiful soul, who was very much like a brother. In one short year, my life has undergone many transformations, transitions, challenges and triumphs… Leading to my exploration of Shamanic Healing work. In May 2023 I travelled to Sussex, NB and partook in ‘The Way of the Shaman’: Basic Workshop on Core Shamanism led by Catherine Hughes of Wayfinding Spirit.Core Shamanism is the modality to shift consciousness between ordinary & non-ordinary reality, using sound drivers such as drumming and/or rattling techniques.
Now, I’m not really sure just how much information one is suppose to relay here, but I believe in transparency, honesty, and vulnerability. I really love the ‘odd ducks’, the people often left out of the crowd. The ones that break rules, and are not afraid to be who they are. - Growing up, I knew I was different. I had different morales, opinions, and tastes than my peers. Since finding my spirituality and developing my passion in photography, I’ve truly ‘found’ myself. In many forms, ways, and states. Honouring that life is a state of constant change, and the only way we get through it, is to allow the change to unfold.
I believe that in order to enjoy life to its fullest, we must also experience the humanness at its full. In order to know deep love, we must know deep grief.
